King of Spring

Yesterday was the king of Spring, and it was awesome. It started downpouring right before our race started. It was a flash flood, and I started to regret ever going. Then the rain stopped, and Randy led us out. I was in second behind a Sport 1 guy. We climbed the first short climb and then into the singletrack where I led the field. The S19 guy passed after a downhill, but I caught him again on a ski slope climb in the slick gravel and passed. After that I led the race overall. I felt very strong, and I floated over the slick rocks. I put power down hard in the flat puddled sections. I felt great climbing, and whenever i was off the bike, I was running fast. I came out with the win overall with a giant gap. I won a new Felt NINEpro frame, and I decided that I would move up to expert which was the biggest accomplishment for me. It was a great day.

Post Burn

In the Burn 24 hour challenge, we did really well for a junior team. On a 5 person team, we took 6th. This week was pretty slow getting back into the usual. I rode the day after thinking it was going to be a good recovery ride. Although, it ended up being about 3 hours. The next day I took off. Burn was fun, and I can't wait to see everyone at ironhill this weekend. It should be fast.

Pre-Burn

I'm on my way down to North Carolina for Burn 24 hour challenge on a 5 person team. The commute is with Jeff, Tom, Brian, and Sam. Apperantly, I've been chosen to go 1st and it sounds like a lot of fun, but nobody knows this course, so I'm really nervous.

US GRAND PRIX OF CX!!!!

It was awesome!!!! The course was so muddy, that nearly a quarter of it needed to be run!!! It was so much fun too. We watched the pro races and Tim Johnson...9 ball... won it the first day with a giant gap before Todd Wells came along for 2nd. They pounded through the mud so ridiculously fast. There was also a huge stair case to run and the other side was this dh. @ the bottom the mud was your enemy and so crazy but no prob for Tim J.

The second day was even HARDER!!! the mud was so hard to pound through because I raced it and it was so much fun!!!...even though i crashed countless amounts of times into poles and such:). I also stuck around and watched the pro race... more like taunting and screaming... Tim J could not race b/c he hurt his knee the day before... couldn't imagine how fast he would have gone if he didn't hurt his knee . We put dollar bills in the mud and it was so funny when people grabbed em'. 1 guy even put one in his teeth and a rider grabbed it w/ his teeth... hilarious!! Any way, Todd W ended up battling his own bro troy to come out with the win, and Jamie Powers in 3rd. I made a couple friends... that I'll prob only see next year. Drew was parked next to me and he came in 2nd overall and he was really cool. I just wish'd I got info to contact him. The whole race was so schweet and I can't wait for it to come around again.

My first post. HMMMMM... Anyway, I have had Thursday & Friday off for a "teachers' convention"... in Atlantic City. SURE, but whatever gets me out of School :).

I took the time off to try to ride, yet Thursday was nasty:(, but Friday I rode with Larry, and my friend Joe, who can't own enough bikes... don't blame em'. We ended up riding at like 4 and it was so depressing cuz it already started to get dark. We took a nice easy ride for Joe's sake of a hurt shoulder. We all ended up coming out when it was really dark just following one light! lots o' fun :)
